  YOU ARE IN: DROUGHT WATCH

When did it last rain properly in the village?

Update

Well at last we have had some real rain and puddles are everywhere! We will keep our eyes on the ground and report back. Just remember we are still under a complete hose pipe ban in Horsted Keynes.

At HorstedKeynes.Com we were wondering when it last rained around here, not drizzle real heavy rain? We reckon it's been more than 9 months since we had a real puddle on The Green! As you will know there has been a full hosepipe ban in force in our part of Sussex since last year and since that was applied well, you try to remember when the heavens' last opened?

Many people think that villagers get their water from the Weirwood reservoir near Forest Row. In fact all village supplies come from self contained underground storage with a pumping station off Station Road.

The purpose of this page is to recognise that we are still in a drought and to comment on the water shortage situation that will inevitably get worse as the weather warms up and Spring and Summer arrive.

Do you have a swimming pool?
Are you filling it this year?
