Properties for sale in and around Horsted Keynes, Sussex

There's something like 500 homes in the Horsted Keynes village area. If you add the next village over which is called Dane Hill then the number increases to just under 1000, the two are often associated as we share the same telephone exchange.

From your front door you can be in Victoria in just under an hour - assuming that you can get a lift to the nearest railway station which is Haywards Heath. If you have to drive and park yourself then add another 15 minutes as Haywards Heath station car park is HUGE and you can easily have to walk a quarter mile from your car to the platform!

Until recently we had several proper local shops, a butcher, a Village Property Shop and a petrol station around the Green in the village. This has now reduced to two outlets, a village store and a Post Office (which is owned and run by the village community). The petrol station is now having new homes built on the site, so you need to keep some spare petrol in your tank - or have a can or two at home as the next nearest is nearly 5 miles away!

Many houses in the area are detached with large gardens, but around the village green there are still the many terraced homes that were originally built for farm workers. Parking in this area is a major problem as naturally cars were not invented when the village was laid out. Fortunately the village has no yellow lines - yet. But we fear that if inconsiderate parking continues as it is they can't be too long coming! This would be a great pity and we are sure that our very active Parish Council would do all that it could to delay their introduction.
