Can we borrow your windowsill?
As you can see, one of the more popular aspects of this site
are the live pictures that are shown in the corner of most pages. Former
residents who have moved away from the area as well as people from all over
the world like to see what the Sussex countryside and weather are doing and
we are pleased to meet their requests.
Unfortunately we don't live in the village centre and
therefore the most interesting view that we can show is a distant sight of
the Haywards Heath road junction. Do you have a view of the green or the
church for example, and would you be willing to install a web camera so that
the whole Internet can share your good view?
You would need to be a Broadband subscriber and be on a
tariff that allows full time connection but we could arrange to lend you a
computer and hook it up to your existing computer to send the pictures on to
our site. Alternatively if you leave your computer on all the time we could
simply connect a camera to your existing setup. A USB camera uses less than
1% of your system resources so it won't slow your work down! The cost of
running whatever setup (perhaps a few pence a day) would have to be donated
by yourself. No monitor is needed for a dedicated camera computer so the
setup can be quite small.
If you can help, or can suggest a way that we could increase
our live picture content please do get in touch.
Thanks,
Your webmasters. |
