  YOU ARE IN: NIGHTSKY

We live in one of the last areas in Southern England with little light pollution where the sky is still dark at night . Please take a look!

We are presently working on a camera setup to bring you a view of the stars and aeroplanes that traverse our piece of sky. The resulting pictures may look too dark or too light but we are working to correct this.
Obviously cloud cover is an issue too!
Please do look back as we are sure that in time this could become a very interesting internet resource!

PLEASE NOTE This camera is only active during hours of darkness and may be off line at short notice.

Technical Description of Night Sky camera.
This purpose made camera now uses a new 48 mm (≈2") Ø Canon 400:1 zoom lens with an f = 2.8~75mm.
The sensor is now a wide screen 16:9 1100x720 Charge Coupled Device.
Entire unit is usually parked pointing North at the Pole Star on an adjustable mount
in a purpose built rain dome - O.K. actually an upside down glass food bowl!

Unit no longer on fixed stand - can now track interesting objects!

We hope soon to allow visitors to move the sky camera by remote control.

Right click the picture and then "Save As" if you see anything interesting!
